🍹 Golden Horizon (Virgin Voyages version)


Ingredients

  • Tequila (quality blanco or reposado)

  • Passion fruit liqueur (e.g., Chinola or something similar)

  • Honey syrup (honey diluted with a bit of warm water to make it pourable)

  • Fresh basil (for a herbaceous note)

  • Ice

  • Optional: passion fruit or citrus garnish

Approximate proportions (adapted for home use)

  • 2 oz tequila

  • 1 oz passion fruit liqueur

  • 0.5 oz honey syrup (adjust based on the sweetness you like)

  • A few basil leaves (about 4–5)

  • Ice to fill a cocktail shaker (or glass)

  • Garnish: basil sprig or twist of citrus

Instructions

  1. In a shaker, add the basil leaves and honey syrup. Muddle gently to release the basil aroma (don’t pulverize the leaves).

  2. Add the tequila, passion fruit liqueur, and ice.

  3. Shake well (about 10–15 seconds) to chill and dilute slightly.

  4. Strain into a chilled glass (you could use a coupe or rocks glass, depending on style) over fresh ice if desired.

  5. Garnish with a basil sprig (or combine basil + citrus zest for extra aroma).

  6. Sip, enjoy the tropical-herbaceous twist. “Tell it like it is”: this one is bold — the citrus/fruit and herb interplay means it’s not your average sweet drink — it has character.
